The Konro Grill is a special type of Japanese barbecue that is elongated so that even long meat skewers can be prepared on it without any problems. On the larger versions, however, even very large pieces of meat such as ribeye steaks can be prepared perfectly. Konro grills work best with the high-quality, Japanese Binchotan charcoal.
How to use a Konro Grill?
- Warm up the Binchotan charcoal separately in advance, e.g. in the matching Binchotan barbecue lighter.
- Then place the Binchotan charcoal in the grill and the grill grid on top of the grill.
- Your Konro Grill is now ready for use.
After use, wait until all the charcoal has burned or run out. Alternatively, you can remove hot charcoal from the inside with a stick or tongs and throw it into a bucket of sand or water. Never use water to rinse the Konro Stone! You can of course clean the grill net with water, but the stone itself should only be cleaned of dust and ashes with a dry brush. Since the use of high-quality Binchotan coal leaves hardly any ash residue, cleaning is quick and easy.
Attention: You can use the grill with Binchotan coal indoors and outdoors. However, when using it indoors, make sure that there is sufficient ventilation because of the formation of monoxide when coal is burned.
