How do you prepare matcha tea traditionally?- Put 1-2 grams of matcha powder into a matcha bowl. This corresponds to approx. 1-2 heaped spoonfuls with the matcha bamboo spoon Chashaku.
- Add about 50 ml of hot water; about 70 to 80 degrees is optimal; hotter temperatures destroy some of the ingredients of the matcha tea.
- Now whisk the tea with the matcha whisk Chasen in zigzag movements until it has a foamy consistency. This takes about 20 seconds.
- If the taste of pure matcha tea is too intense for you, you can now dilute the tea by adding more hot water.
